There is a Pakistani saying: Medi goi khab aiyai? (Did I have a dream?)

Well, yes actually, I have several dreams. And it's true that some of them I have absolutely no idea how I will fulfill any of them. For instance one of my dreams is to have a movie made of my story. Wow, imagine me on the big screen!! Okay, not me personally, but either Melissa McCarthy or Drew Barrymore. I guess I will leave that decision to the big-time-producers.

And then I have the dream of my Sandi Sweet Coloring Book series to be in every Children's hospitals and domestic violence shelter across the nation; bringing a ray of peace and tranquility to those who are suffering the most.

And then there's the dream of putting Bangles: My True Story of Escape, Adventure and Forgiveness in every domestic violence shelter library in the world. I know, that is a very tall order, isn't it? Well, how would I even begin to do this? A professional acquaintance of mine suggested that I take my dream to the public, and create a Go Fund Me account to help fund it. So I did. A few days ago, I created a campaign for $500.00. This  money will go directly to the purchase and shipping of hard copies of Bangles to be sent to shelters and domestic violence centers around Arizona; I felt that would be a great beginning for me. I want to do whatever I can to be an inspiration to other men and women who may be suffering from domestic violence as I once did.

You know what? I am not worried if the funds are raised or not; I just know that I am striving each and every day to reach these dreams and more; I will never give up and that is all that matters!

Dreams are real; and dreams are made to be shared. Thank you for being in my dream today.

The Feeling of Happiness is Relative

Dear Diary,  Today's writing prompt is to write about a time that I felt really happy. I cannot believe that I struggled with this topic for over three hours. One would assume that a topic so simple as this would be a breeze to discuss. Oh but contraire!  I finally started listing all the different times in my life that I felt real happiness. So my conclusion is that happiness is all relative. Relative to the different stages of my life. Like when I was a baby, I am pretty sure I was really happy to get a bottle and a cookie. And I specifically remember being really happy while watching Winnie the Poo on our roll-a-way TV .   When I was a teen, the only thing that made me happy was hour-long phone calls with friends, getting my first kiss with the boy I was most in love with at the time; and getting a 10-speed bike for Christmas. Happy days! How about the time I became a mother. I think I was pretty fricken happy with all three of them. They are my true loves of life....

  The Taboo Kiss by Marsha Marie The night is bitter cold. Our shifts started at 11 pm, and the thought of seeing him again was so exciting. We meet up for class as usual and begin chatting. Eighteen years my junior, and all of his attention is on me.  Tonight he wants to go for a walk.  "Let’s go to Fatima Jinnah Park. We can take your car.”  “Sounds great. Let’s go.” The park is just down the road; so not a long drive at all. We park the car and head into the dark mini-forest. My heels clicking in the crisp air. We talk about random things. He is young and not very experienced in life. I already have two marriages and three children. The most unusual of a pairing.  His English is broken but sweet.
