New ebook Release: 75+ Things I Learned Living 22 Years Abroad

Image
It's ready!!! If you think hard enough about your life, a thousand ideas will come to mind that you want to share with the world. Things that you know that others would benefit from somehow---if even only for a minuscule amount. Or perhaps things that would just be really great topics to sit around and talk about with friends or family. Well, I have a thousand of them, too. But in my latest ebook, 75+ Things I Learned Living 22 Years Abroad , I narrowed it down to just under a 100 or so. 75+ Things I Learned Living 22 Years Abroad , is an honest view about my life's lessons during my time living in Asia and the Middle East in my 22 years of self-exile. I think the most interesting thing about this book, was that I learned so much about myself. I took the time to really think about what I had learnt; and as a result, it has really shown me that I am who I am today because of these invaluable lessons. 75+ Things I Learned Living 22 Years Abroad , is availab...

Hi Everyone!   I hope that you are all having a wonderful Christmas holiday. Just to let you know now, this blog post is not going to full of cheer today, cause I am still angry about the other night.   Imaging you are driving home from work and you spot something in the sky and it looks like an alien invasion. What would you do? Well, on December 22, 2017, I totally freaked out; and I was not alone.   I had just gotten off work and was driving west on Interstate 10, as I do every night. I was humming along with some classical music and I remember looking at the clock and noticing that I just might get home 15 minutes earlier than usual due to the traffic being so thinned out. Yea holidays!  As I looked ahead on the stretch of highway, I noticed to the right of my vision a bunch of smoke in the sky. I first thought it was fire, then when I noticed that the smoke was coming from an object my thoughts turned to a plane mu...

We Are All Writers!

Image
Holiday greetings to all, This week I have writing on the brain. Have you ever wanted to just write something, but thought, Nah! I can't write . I know exactly how that feels; I used to think like that. Even though I had had several magazine articles published in UAE, and then a self-published memoir, Bangles (Book 1) under my belt, I honestly didn't think of myself as a writer. It wasn't until I heard Big Magic on audiobook, that I let go of my own inhibitions and decided, YES! I AM A WRITER. Do I write just for myself? Not always. Most of the time I write because I want to share some kind information or knowledge with the world. (You know, leave the world a little bit of a better place than when you found it.) See, by nature, I love helping and encouraging others, and so, I attempt to do this thru my writings. True, there are times when I just want to rant on about something stupid, irritating or even petty, but after all, I...

(Worth sharing!!!!) The Booklet--- Doing Your Time with Peace of Mind: A Meditation Manual for Prisoners. By Doug Booth

Meditation has changed my life; so much so that I wrote a book about it ( It's Hard to Meditate When Your Butt Itches ). Meditation has been the catalyst in finding peace and harmony with the world around me. As a matter of fact, just yesterday, I asked a colleague what he was wanting for Christmas. He said, "Just some peace and tranquility." And then suddenly it was dittoed by someone overhearing our friendly conversation, except that they added they would be happy with only one hour of peace and tranquility. These statements were eye-opening for me. It was truly the first time that I was able to say to myself, "Wow. I wish others felt what I feel. They do not have to live in such a state of sadness and disarray." This interaction weighed heavily on my heart; so much so that I started researching again about meditation and if there was some kind of printout that was easy to understand and quick to read. I found this: Doing Your Tim...
